Enterprise Architecture (EA) what is it and how do you do it?

There are multiple definitions and meanings which can be confusing and most struggle to capture the full breadth and scope of what EA is.

In this series I will provide opinion, practical advice, methods and approaches which can be applied to Enterprise Architecture. The methods and approaches will not ‘make’ you an Architect but they should help aspiring architects as well as providing a resource for practicing Architects at multiple levels. I also encourage comment and debate.

I will talk a lot about context as this is key to everything from:
– creating an environment where you can succeed
– selection of tools and methods
– application of methods and approaches

But also providing the context for:
– Solution Architects
– Engineering
– Procurement

Context is understanding both the environment and constraints within which you, the business and technology operate.
